Can my band sell their CD through CDN Records online store?
Yes! We are always willing to help out bands who have released their own CD and are working hard to make it happen. Typically, we would require 5 -10 copies up front of your release. Upon sale of them, we would pay you at a set price that we would negotiate with you prior. If all copies sell, we would then proceed to purchase more outright/direct from you. We cannot afford to buy CDs from every band up front, untill we know that we can sell some copies first.
How do I trade product with CDN Records?
If you have a label and product you would like to trade, please contact us. Please, provide us with a list of your titles, their genres and a link to somewhere on the internet where we can check your stuff out. You can also send us a package with samplers of your titles. Please, mark on the outside of the package “Distro Consideration”.
How do I submit demo material?
Just go to our contact page and use the mailing address provided. Please mark on the outside of the package that it is for “Demo Submission”. We do listen to everything that comes thru our office and we do sign bands from their demo alone, although it helps if you are playing steady and drawing a crowd. We are always looking for good quality Metal-Core, Death-Metal, Grind-Core, Hard-Core and Black Metal. We do not return anything we receive, so please include cash!!!
How can I check if my order has been shipped?
This is the whole purpose of having to sign up for an account in order to be able to buy from CDN Records. Log into your account and you will have access to all the details of every order you have made since signing up for the account. If an order is showing as not shipped and it has been more than a week, please contact us right away! We try very hard to mail all our shipments within 48-72 hours after purchase.
What if my package arrives but doesn’t have everything I ordered in it?
Usually we are pretty good about not fucking up our customer’s orders. But I guess we are human and someday it could happen. If it does and your package is missing an item, please contact us right away. Our inventory counts will usually reveal our fuck-up.
What happens if my package was damaged in the mail?
We are not responsible for damage to items while in the mail, especially jewel cases… they are fragile and easily damaged. If this ever happens, just steal the jewel cases from your brother’s Motley Crue collection. If you wish to purchase insurance for your package, please contact us and we will make the arrangements.
If the CD I bought sucks, can I return it?
Sorry! Buyer Beware, if you buy a CD with a dead chick’s guts spewing out and her anus blown to shreds on the cover, then you shouldn’t expect us to give a refund because you didn’t like it after all. We are trying to eventually update our databases so that most of the products we sell will have an audio sample. However, to do this with 1300+ cd titles, would be a full time job for someone, which at the moment we just cannot afford. Eventually it will happen, but it will take time.
The website showed an item in-stock and I received an email that the item is no longer available?
We are currently working to better are online/offline transaction system. However, due to the nature of our business, we stock a lot of titles with very small quantity values. Since we sell our products online and offline thru mail-order, direct from our office and at local concert venues and festivals, it is sometimes possible that our inventory does not get updated at the moment of an offline sale, if we are on location at a concert, selling and promoting. If this happens and you pay for an item that is actually out of stock and we can no longer get more copies, then we will give you the option to replace that item with something else or we will give you credit towards your next purchase. Usually, when this happens, we always try to make good by throwing in some freebies and extra goodies.
How long will it take for my shipment to arrive?
This is something that we just cannot give an exact answer to. Obviously, a shipment within Canada will take less time than it would if we are shipping to Singapore or Australia. Whenever shipping outside of the country, you should always allow delays due to customs and other things of that nature.
What shipping methods do you offer?
Currently we only ship using standard Canada Post. We have had great success with their service over the last 10 years. We know their system and have our shipping methods with them down to a science. We don’t plan to fix what isn’t broken.
Is my credit card information protected?
We do not store or even see your credit card information. All that information is handled by the well respected PayPal, who use industry leading, cutting edge secure technologies. Trust us, your payment information is in good hands.
Why do I need to sign up for an account to buy from CDN Records?
Signing up for an account allows us and you a safer, more streamlined shopping experience. It allows you to have access to the status of your orders and order history details and it helps us to easily figure out when something goes wrong during a transaction. Signing up for an account to purchase online is a fairly standard practice and we have tried to make the sign-up process as easy and quick as possible. We do not store sensitive information like SIN#’s or credit card information. We only require the basics like your name, address and email. We also hope to develop the user accounts more in the future to incorporate new features that I am sure everyone will enjoy.
What type of currency do you accept?
Currently we only accept good old American Greenback’s (even though we are a Canadian Company). It is possible we will expand upon this in the future.
Can I buy from CDN Records without a credit card?
Yes, of course, you can still buy from CDN Records the old fashioned way thru mail-order. We realize that most metal-heads barely have enough money to feed themselves, let alone have a bank give them their own credit card. You can download our mail-order form, follow the instructions in the form and send it. Typical restrictions apply. For example, schedules and money orders will take time to process. What payment methods do you accept? Can I pay with my credit card?
Currently, we only accept online payments through PayPal. You can pay using your regular PayPal account or by selecting the option on PayPal’s payment page to pay with your credit card. Paypal is fast, easy and very secure. This is why we have chosen them as our preferred payment gateway.
